Digidesign 002 Rack vs. . Digi 002 non-rack
Considering Digidesign 002 + Pro Tools LE 6.4 for windows based system. The difference in price between Digidesign 002 Rack vs Digi 002 non-rack is considerable--about 1200 for rack vs about 2600 for non rack.
I'm new to this. What would be the advantages of one over the other? Thanks.

Digidesign 002 vs. . MOTU828/Events Layla..Pro Tools vs. . Nuendo?
Gday Guys, I'm from Australia, and work in a studio using a TDM Pro Tools setup, but I want to build a studio for home/on location work, and i was wondering, i have a pc and mixer, plus Nuendo, but what would be the better setup; hardware/software wise? Digi002 with LE software, or MOTU 828mk2 with Nuendo, or an Events Layla with Nuendo?
Speaking of Digidesign...
For my first home studio attempt, which is for the very limited purpose of recording my voice for VO auditions, I have been counseled to try Cool Edit Pro. The idea is to record the copy, make an mp3 file, and send it out. If I book the job, I'll go to a local studio and do an ISDN session.

can you use pro tools LE w/non digidesigns interfaces
My buddy bought the Mbox (I think thats what its called) and now he is looking to upgrade to something with more channels (8), the Digidesign 001 is kinda pricey, and he would like something cheaper, but still use the pro tools software.
Is the Digidesign monopoly over ?
I have been looking into this whole Pro Tools thing and I have come to the conclusion that all the Digidesign hype is exactly that; "Hype". The software is in my opinion antiquated, uncomfortable and limiting, and the hardware is no better than many of the cheaper alternatives; infact in a lot of cases it sounds pretty average in comparison.

A Few Quick Thoughts on the Digidesign Plugins Tour
I was going to write up an exciting review of the pluginstour, but, frankly, while it was informative, I didn't find much to write about. A few pieces of info:

Digidesign is not democratic: THEY BANNED ME
Ehi, it's incredible, Digi banned me and deleted all my last post just because i said: I heard a rumor telling Apple would release a DAW, better than PT and more cost effective!
IT'S NOT MY FAULT IF I HEARD THAT RUMOR.

Digidesign M Box - 24 tracks with USB connection to a la
So I just got one, still half in it's MMMMbox!
Looks cool, I bought it to use with the studios iBook 600.
We were using PT For Free - the 8 track free version of PT (downloadable off the Digidesign site) to edit vocals but it was a bore making a mono mix to save space and not having a full (24) track count.
