Hello my fellow live sound dudes and dudettes ...

I've been looking into possibly upgrading from my mbox2 in the future to the Digidesign 003 rack. It has 8 in 8 out. Only 4 of those inputs are XLR but i've heard and read of getting 8 inputs using ADAT which is how many inputs i'd want for drums etc.

has anyone read the Digidesign's white paper " 48 bit mixer"? the link is below:

Professional opinions on who potential clients might be interested in a studio running a full C24/Pro Tools rig? Just want to make sure I'm not spreading myself to thin. There is always the "I can't believe I did'nt think of that!" factor. -Thanks

ok, so i need someone to set the record straight for me. There is all this talk of things not working, things working, someone bought out someone and now it works, etc. .so. I own a Digi 002 rack (w/PT LE) What, if any, DAW software is compatable with my digi rack? For example, if i want to switch from Pro Tools to Logic or Cubase, would it be possible to use the 002 rack as my interface?

hey i just got these 2 pieces of hardware my first 2 interfaces or what ever u call it. (I'm new to the studio scene)

I got the ultragain pro-8 because the 002 rack only had 4 preamps and i need 5 to record drums. So i got it for that.

If i connect a digimaxfs pre-amp to a Digidesign 002 through the ADAT out of the digimaxfs into the optical in of the Digidesign that will optimally give me 8 more channels correct?

If I purchased a Digidesign 002 or 003 unit (with or without control board), what would be the best way for me to have a 12 mic preamp setup for simultaneous recording. since the 002 and 003 units only have 4 mic preamps. I don't want to have to buy 3 003 units to do this. If that solution would even work.

this is my first post, and i'm not english, so before a i begin: "SORRY! (in a general manner...:)". I have started to reform my old studio and the main inversion will be the mixer/controller. I use Pro Tools LE in a macpro.

Okay, Okay, I'm really sorry for needing to post this. I've called and talked to the vendors, and I've been doing my homework on this for the past few weeks, but I'm having a hard time compiling anything worthwhile.

I need to add a Pro Tools rig to my system, just for compatibility's sake. I don't want to replace my system, just get enough to make things transfer, I guess.
