Tracking drums

Hi
I am about to track some drums on 2", and i want to make sure that I don't screw anything up. This time it has to be perfect.
One of the things i'm worried about is phase cancellation. .i hate phase cancellation. all my drumrecordings sounds like they suffer from it. don't wanna hear it anymore.

checking phase on drums mics

I've heard repeatedly that one must check the phase of drum mics in relation to one another to find phasing problems. How does one go about doing this? I've heard things about using a "phase clicker" but I don't know what that is. Is it a procedure that one would perform which could be done with the phase meter on the console; or do you need to have a phase clicker or do you need both?

tuning drums

how do you come up with the correct pitch for each drum?

basically i have been working the head until the sound "comes together". I'm new to REALLY tuning drums and would like to get better. ive read all the basics of tuning. when i finish with a head, they tend to [what i think] be pretty tight and high pitched for the sizes.
