I've recently been working with, and digging into, the FFT EQ Filter in Samplitude.

been hmmming and hawwwwing over this for about year now I'm looking for another passive eq, i have a minimassive and a massive passive i find those two worlds apart. the massive has serious heft and i find it coloured in a good way but doesn't work for everything. the mini is my favorite eq bar none its just quite limited. any one use the SPL PASSEQ for mastering duties.

It's been quite a while since I was behind a VR - can someone set me straight on the EQ section? IIRC, the freqs (bands) are:

33 - 370
190 - 2k
800 - 8.7k
1.5 - 17

I was hoping that someone who knows better than I can either confirm that, or set me straight. Don't worry about the Q and the shelving.

hey all jw about your thoughts on where you find the most value of a sonic 'footprint' in other words, 'messing w/ the natural sound'. i feel like so many people talk about the character of pre's but eq seems over looked.

I had a doubt this morning, the maximum peak advised -3dB to mastering then nothing inserted in the master bus, also applies in mastering post EQ? In this case only a high-pass active filter of 30Hz.

My first question to this remarkable Forum ;)

This might have been discussed many times but since new tools are created everyday, I bet it isn't a bad Idea to ask

First, I'm brand new to the site, I have read some of the fine threads and it all looks good. I'm recently retired, had a medium sized Music store for a long time. Lots of tube gear still around.

I have two copies of the same song, but technically they are different (because the waveforms are not a 100% match).

One copy is a commercial release. It is fully mastered and everything.
