Cheap EQ vs. Waves eq
I own some Waveseq plugins, but i was recently given a cheap Alesis 1/3 octave precision equalizer...
Should i stick with the waves? or is going through hardware better...

EQ ranges in the mixing stage
I mix mostly hard rock and metal songs. I do a lot to make sure that each part is clear and has its own place in the mix. When I get down to the finished mix I use an EQ analyzer just out of curiosity. The low end seems to pump +10-20dB above everything else and the high-endseems to be almost nonexistent.

Can you give me some opinions as to which plugins
you consider to be the best sounding?

EQ Rack placement
Question:
I'm trying to set up a little sattelite drum lab in a friends house with some older equipment of mine: A 1607VLZ some 5" M-audio monitors, a stereo 15 band EQ (i think its ART 341) and the old m-box. I used to set them up this way:Mic--->Mixer--->EQ--->MBox--->Monitors.

Hardware Compression, EQ and effects question... n00b
Hi! I recently got into recording and I use a PreSonus firepod connected with Cubase in my computer. I was thinking of getting a little hardware compressor, reverb or eq and I want to know how I connect it to apply this new effect into already recorded tracks?
Thanks to help me out !

Vocal EQ - Sound Check
Hey, I'm using radio mics and a SM58 on a band and I was wondering the work flow people have for EQing vocals. I have a very limited time for soundcheck. How can I EQ different vocals to get the best sound? Atm I have a high pass on different vocalists filter to stop pops etc and clean up the sound. I sometimes eq the highest band as a de-esser.

Multiband compressor and 4 band EQ on final PA mix?
Hi folks,
In a few days I'm going to do a PA mixing of a higher profile concert event and therefore I am looking at further improving my PA mix sound.
Live guitar EQ issues
i use an Alesis DEQ in my guitar rack. i noticed last night while playing a show that i couldn't hear certain parts of our songs, but then other parts were very audible. i am boosting what i thought where the usual freqs for guitar, but i am wondering if not boosting mids at all is the cause of this. when i say boost, i mean maybe 4db max, and talking freqs from 200-600 and 1.6-6k.

EQ settings for live low voice
I'm having trouble with some live music in the way that we have just okay mics, and the songs we play sound pretty good, but sometimes when the vocal melody has a really low part, it gets lost in the music and you can't understand the words, which is understandable because the bass frequencies mix and mingle with the other stuff and don't get heard as much.
