I apologize in advance if this is not the right place to post this.

I just picked up an IAS Fireface 800 firewire interface and am wondering if using the older (lower-end?) Focusrite Voice Box MKII for vocal channel strip/preamp (before the Fireface) would be a good idea.
This is for a home studio.

First, I want to reiterate what many have said about this forum...it does indeed kick much ass. I've read so much about so many of you, I feel as if I know some of you quite well just from checking out your comments, suggestions and (minor) arguments...!

In an unrelated post, marsvolta posed this question, and I'm very interested in hearing the answer as I am doing something similar...I'm running into a Focusrite TT Pro, to a dbx266xl and then into my Tascam FW-1884 to get the signal into my computer.

please users, give some review on Focusrite Saffire.
how stable drivers?
how accurate MIDI?
DA AD converters quality?

I tested it by running my fx unit into the stereo ins on the back and it worked brilliantly. Now I plug my mic into the front the signal is there but doesn't seem to leave the Penta... phantom power is on, mic/ist button is pressed and lights are flashing but no sound.

Any thoughts?

If I was to choose between the Focusrite Twintrak Pro or the Joemeek TwinQ which would be better for my DAW? I am looking for something that adds a lot of warmth, has low noise, and great quality that I will be satisfied for years to come. Also, which has better compression? Can both be routed back through to compress already recorded audio?

What do you think about the Focusrite Twintrak Pro and the Voicemaster Pro? Also, what does the vintage harmonics on the Voicemaster Pro do?

Okay so i thinking i won't go with th PreSonus Eureka and am now looking at something in the Focusrite VoiceMaster Pro range.

Whats the difference between VMP and the Twin track Pro?
also looked at Joemeek .

I know these are lower mid-end pre's but i figure i'll always find a use furthon down the road.
