Tascam FW-1884

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of bying a Tascam FW-1884 and would like to know a bit more about it.
What do you guys think about the mic preamp's, what are they like in comparation to the aardvark q10's?

And if anyone's got a fw-1884, I would appreciate any other info.

Thanks,
K

usb 2.0 or FW?

Hi,

getting a bit confused here. want to upgrade my souped up G3 DT (XLR8 G4 500)with an extra external harddisk (for audio) but I will stay at OS 9.2 for sure..My question:
-is USB 2.0 suitable for OS 9.2 at all? Most pci to usb 2.0 cards are specified for OSX only.
-What would be the preference anyway: FW or USB 2.0?

Tascam FW1884

An earlier post got me & many others excited about the newly released Tascam FW1884. The Tascam guy posted the entire spec sheet and everybody drooled.
I've checked dealers and they have never heard of it. I've emailed Tascam (three times) and gotten no response--although it is listed on their website.
Does anybody know anything about it? Really.
