Alesis multimix 16 FW OR phonic Helix 18 FW

I am looking to set up my first computer vased recording system after spending years using all in one digital multitracks.

This week I will be purchasing, Logic Pro & a Tascam US2400 controller. Rather than get a standard interface, I was thinking of one of these firewire mixers that have preamps such as the Alesis Multimix or the Phonic Helix.

Multiple FW interfaces with Sonar Producer 4

Hi,
I am currently using a Tascam FW1804 with Sonar Producer 4, and would like to add some more analog inputs. I am curious if there are issues with using more than one FW interface, or should I be looking at specific brands? I don't want to add another 1804, but am considering a M Audio or Edirol interface.

Digital Glitch Problem with Tascam FW1804 and Sonar 4

Hi,
I have exhausted every trouble-shooting scenario I can think of to get rid of a digital ‘glitch’ coming through my Tascam FW1804, while using Sonar Producer 4, and am hoping someone can help. I will describe the problem and what I’ve done to trouble-shoot below. If you have suggestions please help, as I am hours away from a service center.

Tascam FW 1884 trouble

I just bought this unit. After installing the software, I turn it on and all board lights come up and the firewire light is blinking. There doesn't appear to be a connection with the computer. Anyone experience this? Is there some sort of master reset? I installed the software first as directed and the programs associated with the setup of the unit come up fine.
