Recording Electric Guitar Follow Up Question
Hello all!
direct boxes when recording guitar
Here's a quote from the Kapt:
"You'll rarely get good results plugging a guitar straight into an interface. Depending on how it's set, you could be loading down the guitar signal. A direct box, a preamp, or a POD (or similar) may help get a better signal."

Recording Elec & Acoustic Guitar
Recording a Reggae/groove song.
Acoustic Guitar is going pure rhythm, mostly upbeats and such, playing the basic chords.
Electric guitar has a mini solo here and there, otherwise just adding color to the overall picture.
How would you separate them in the mix?
I was thinking different pans, as well as different eq.

How to split guitar signal?
In the studio, what is the proper way to split a guitar signal so that I can record multiple guitar rigs at once from one performance? I'd like to be able to set up one rig in an isolation booth, and another different rig in another booth, and then still have the original signal to go straight into the board for plugin processing.

I have a 002LE rack and I'm looking for some advice on how to record guitar amps and what do you think the most reasonable Mic Preamp $2k or below would work best. I appreciate all of your advice
Recording Guitar within Pro Tools
I've been working on a project and one problem that I continually come across is digital distortion. I'm running Pro Tools 7.3 and I'm using a Shure 57 and and RODE Nt -1a for recording vocals and guitar. Regardless of what mic I use for recording a tube amp electric guitar I seem to get some digital clipping.

Mics for acoustic guitar and vocals/harmonica?
Hello everyone,
Question about compression on guitar?
Is it unwise to use a compression pedal to get a particular electic guitar sound when recording? Would this limit what I can do with the guitar during mixing?

Latency Issue. Guitar Input > USB 2.0
Hi People.
my situation :
I recently bought Native Instruments' Guitar Rig.
Though I am not running it via their Rig Kontroller
Instead I bought myself the Light Snake™ ¼ Guitar input > USB 2.0 cable. It's a nice cable.
Now when GR loads and I go to the AUDIO AND MIDI SETTINGS I have 2 options and they are as follows:
