The Brick w/ digi 002?
Hi,
I'm considering buying the Brick to use with my digi 002 but i'm wondering if its even worth it since my signal will still have to pass through the digi's pre's. i plan mainly on using this for vocals. if there is a way to bypass the digi pre's please let me know. .i'm pretty new at all of this.

The Brick
I've read so much stuff from all the great guys here at RO about having good mic preamp's - and have seen so many people approving of 'the brick' that I was thinking about getting one.
I currently run a G4pbook 1.67GHz with a PreSonus Firepod -
was wondering how I would hook such a mic preamp up with my system - if it's possible?

Question about the brick
I just purchased a brick a couple weeks ago. So far everytime iv'e set it up to use it on a project i end up not using it, becuase it is too "hot". I am familiar with the fact that it automatically adds +25db to the signal with the gain all the way down. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so is there a way to possibly add a "pad" or something to the signal.

The Brick content.
When using The Brick as an instrument DI for a re-amp situation later on, would you say it colours the signal too much to be usefull?
In contrast to a super-linear FET-base pre, that is.
I guess, if it sounds good it's allright, but I would like some views on this.

"The Brick": the right preamp?
I am fullfilling the dream of my life, I come from a little town in Bolivia (south america) and from a family very poor, I made my way to America when I was 18, since then I have been working on several jobs and traying to make my way up. Well right now I am 27 and have almost my first semi professional home studio, I have been always facinated with the acoustics and sounds.

Brick into Audiodock :: best connection?
I just got my GT Brick today, and it's got a balanced XLR out.
My other preamps use 1/4 inch out, which I plug right into a line-in on the E-mu Audiodock.
What's the best way to plug the Brick in? Get an XLR-to-1/4 inch cable, or just go into the XLR mic input on the audiodock?

Groove Tubes Brick - Where To Buy/Good Price
OK, everybody seems to say that the Brick is a good value. I want one. However, it doesn't seem easy to find. I did find it through Sweetwater...never bought from them before though. my usual sources don't carry it.
Anyone have any suggestions? I live in the New Jersey/New York area. Also is there a better price than $399?
Thanks!
Krel
