Monitoring headphones

Hi all
I was just wondering what the favourite headphones are for monitoring on this part of the site. I asked about Sennheiser 280s elsewhere, but that's really for close-mic'ed vocalists.

I use Grado headphones, and I'm curious about other people's choices for location phones. I'm thinking of upgrading to more expensive Grado phones, or the Sennheiser HD650.

headphones

I'm looking for some good headphones for some nighttime "editing"
I find that most cans just kill my ears after 45 mins of listening to em (loud or not)
I need some flat, non- harrasing phones so i can do it for a few hours a night.

i realise that mixing is a big no-no but i find for editing vocals it works well. It's just my ears get tired too easy.

thanks

headphone specs

why do headphones come in different ohm ratings?does that make some louder than others?what is the mW rating for?how much volume they can handle? and the db spl rating? is that how much signal they can handle before they distort?whats specs should i be lookin at for tracking?do you need to know your mixer specs when choosing a set of headphones?
