Second mic condensor frequency for the kick drum.
I'm don't want to get into calculations or room dimensions (a good meter let's me know outside of the calculator where the actual wave is frequenting)
So let's say all the works done and you can capture any peak frequency you want.

Kick drum and small diaphram condenser mics?
What are some good low-cost (< $150) kick drum and small diaphram condensers? The small-diaphram would be used for drum overheads and for recording acoustic guitar as a stereo pair.

Pflumpf (spelling?) of bass drum a result of soft clip?
I'm trying to get that smooth high frequency pflumpf (did I spell it right?) of the bass drum in professionally mastered songs. Is it just an artifact of a really expernsive volume maximizer with soft clip? Or of tape saturation? Do my ears deceive me that the soft clipping is also a bit wider in the stereo field?
