Easy Recording Laptop on the cheap
Hi Dudes -
I do a fair amount of home studio recording, currently using a PV14-USB mixer run to a Boss BR1180 digie studio (live mixing to a stereo pair on the digital studio). I'd like to get an affordable laptop for home use, and may as well be sure it can do a good job recording too.

Chaining PC Laptop and Desktop for Recording? (help!)
Okay, so I've used my laptop and desktop separately for recording but I'm wondering if there's any benefit to chaining them both together. The laptop is an HP DV6 running Win7 64, Intel Core2 Duo T6600 @ 2.20 GHz, 7200 RPM SATA drive, 4 GB RAM. The desktop is a Dell Dimension 2400 running XP Pro, Version 2002 Service Pack 3, Pentium 4 @ 2.20 GHz, only 768 RAM.
Laptop Audio - MIDI (playback) support
Hey,
This specific question is very loosely about "recording", I guess. I need to know what to look for in a laptop audio-wise to play with Reason. My current (general-use) laptop won't even play back MIDI sound to install Reason. I just want to be able to fool around with ideas on the laptop, then bring the projects to my desktop. Controller input isn't even necessary.

Recording lag using Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop
Hi!
I'm trying to record multiple tracks (guitar, vocals) at different times and mix them together using Audacity.
There seems to be a time delay in the recordings somewhere between the mic, the mixer, and my computer, and I have a feeling it is the computer. This delay is making recordings difficult to line up in time together.
Here's what i'm using:
