SPL for live shows?
I've been drafted to do the sound for a few live gigs of a band I've been working with in the studio. I have nearly no experience or training with live sound.
I've got a few questions to that extent.
1. What SPL should I be aiming at? I know that 97dB is safe for 30 minutes at a time, which is the approximate legnth of a set they're doing.

Multiple audio outputs of live backing track with video
I need to be flexible in my live show setup, so that I can have different mixes for various shows. So I'm thinking a piece of gear with multiple outputs like a digital mulitracker or ADAT would be cool. Some shows will need a full mix, others will need guitar, bass or drums muted, so that I can occasionally have a live guitarist, bassist, drumer, etc. I need to be flexible in my line-up.
macbook problem with Live 6
Hi,
Everytime when I run more than 5 instruments in Live 6 with my Macbook, it delay and display 100% usage of the CPU power. So frustrated!
Is Macbook powerful enough for recording. Will adding more ram helps? Thanks!

Micing a Choir for Live Sound,Regarding 3:1 Rule
Hello:
Live drums on your recordings!
Hi!
My name is Micke, I am a drummer and I also own a studio. I would like to help you by adding well recorded drums to your songs. I will do it for free as long it's a demo or no budget involved. Mainly I do this because I think it's a nice way to meet new people in the world of music.

Mic for a Live Mandolin
I'd like some suggestion for Micing a mandolin live. The mando player in our praise band has been using an Ovation mandolin that has a pretty usable pickup system. Unfortunately he likes to jam with people down by the New River and ... well to make a long story short we are going to have to mic another mando on Sunday.
