Question I am asked is to playback some mono and stereo material during a dance performance using a surround sytem as well as main PA for playback...Now usually I would delay the different surround speaker sets to time align them with the PA and then using reverb or some effect on the surround tracks to make them slighly different from the more powerful FOH PA, I've also use a differencial sign

ok, how do i record on it because when i hit record, it records but when i play it back, i dont hear anything..

Is there a piece of hardware that can bring a sometimes off key singer, into the correct pitch at a live performance?

Ive been using Ableton live for about a year now and i also use an Alesis Firewire Multimix 12. I'm going to get the mbox2 so I can start using pro tools. But i won't be able to record as many simultaneous inputs as i could with my multimix.

Okay, here is what we have now and what we currently do.

We presently record our services with both a tape cassette recorder for cassettes and a CD-RW recorder for CD's. The problem is that we have to have a storage are for all these master CD's and tapes.

Hi Im a total newbie looking to buy a cheap multitrack recorder and mixer mostly for live use (letting me play back extra parts along with the live music). I was looking for something with at least one/two aux outputs in addition to regular outputs, to allow me to have a headphone monitor mix as well as a regular mix. I was looking at the Boss BR600 but i dont know if it has what i need.

I recorded the local HS symphonic band last week. Not the easiest of situations. The conductor is almost on the edge of the stage, so I have to set my mic stand on the floor - about 3 ft. below the stage. I have the usual rock band Atlas stands and booms, so with everything extended the mics are about 5 ft. above stage level. (Q1) What do you all use for mic stands and booms?.

Can anyone recommend a good recording mic for live irish music session - the mic will be placed on the table and there will be about 4-5 musicians sitting around it - the idea will be to take the input of the mic into a mini-disc player - and later transfer to CD - first thing is will the quality be good enough? Second thing is, will the mic need a preamp?

Anyone have any suggestions for capturing the best crowd response. I used a Crown Stereo PZM mic from the FOH sound board, sounded terrible. I'm considering NT-5s behind the speakers, aiming towards the crowd?

suggestions on microphones (preferrably under $400 for the pair), and placement.
