live mixing.
alright. theres a whole lot going on with live mixing, and i'm getting confused with some of it. alright, so you have subgroups and aux sends. which one of these is used to create monitor mixes on the stage? i wouldn't want to use my subgroups to do that because those would be used to create more simpler mixes of a group of things like drums, right?

Live recording with a multitrack and mixer?
Hi. I have a BOSS BR-864 multi-track recorder. It's an 8-track with one XLR input and one 1/4" jack input. I also have an 8-channel mixer with a Main Out, a Control Room Out, FX Send, Tape Out/Tape In, and Phones jacks. I also have a few microphones, monitors, a preamp, a DI box, and a compressor.

Live Compressor needed
Is there any software plugin compressor that compresses the voice in live from the mic. Just like a hardware compressor?
Please help me. I have few plug -in which compress after the voice is recorded.

U2 live drum overheads
I went to a U2 concert on Friday and I saw that they were using Audio-Technica drum overheads. Does anyone know which ones they use?
Everyone else was looking at the stage show, but I was looking at the mics -am I ill?
Anyway, the reason I ask is that they always have an amazing live drum and bass sound -I love that feeling of being slammed against a brick wall!

Live recording, big budget
Just a quick question - I'm not a recording engineer - just a home studio guy, but I've been tasked with a project.
I (not me but the company)have to record live rock bands in a 6000sq foot bar. We have about $75,000 budget for gear that will be permanently placed. So my question is:

recording in a very large live room
Hello everyone!
I have a large quite live and nicely sounding room available (~12m x 30m x 4.5m) which is quite live sounding and want to experiment a bit with recording there to take advantage of the natural reverb, as opposed to always using those very dead recording rooms.

Hi and thanks for your two bits.
