Live show recorded with a laptop and 2 MOTU Travelers
I plan to record a show onto my PowerBook.
For this, I will use 2 MOTU Travelers.
The show is scheduled to be within a week.
If anyone has already record simultaneously 16 tracks like that, please keep me informed about "how to make this work well".
Thanks.
Live EQ Guidelines for Acoustic Acts
Hello All.
I am new to this board and somewhat new to running sound. I play in an acoustic trio and want to learn more about EQ.
Any suggestions on where I can read more how to use EQ "in the real world" would be helpful.

Not recording, but... live wireless vocals.
I'm working on a show that goes up in three weeks. It's my second musical, though I've designed/run other shows at school, and I'm having difficulty mixing the wireless mic's well. It just sounds really hollow, and it's peaking very easily with the trim pretty far down and the fader at about half volume.

Live recording
Hi all
While I've done a lot of live sound mixing for a lot of years, I'm relatively new to live recording. Here's a sample from a show I mixed and recorded last week.
Link removed
I would appreciate any comments/criticisms of the recording and mixing. Gear used was by no means top of the line but I'd like to know if you guys think I'm on the right track here.

Recording live rock/metal band
extreme Noob needing advice. I need to record video and audio of a live rock/metal band performance.
We have two camcorders and a laptop.
What I want to know is, do you'll recommend taking an out from the mixer to the camcorder... or recording via the laptop.

Live recording
I like to tape gigs with a minidiscplayer (direct out from the mixer), mostly for documentation. However, I don't like the way the compressed minidiscsound is. I've looked at the Alesis Masterlink, and it has what I want, 24bit uncompressed recording.

How to record live choir with tape or CD music tracks?
Our church choir normally performs using CD music tracks. What is the best way to record them live without too much bleed from the CD tracks in monitor speakers? (These recordings would be used for archival purposes or shut-ins, not for resale purposes.) Some added info:
Line 6 Pod Live XT, direct and amped for recording
I found the Line 6 is good for heavy, straight ahead recording. It seems that building up in volume and feed back cannot be done with this pedal board unless you plug it into an amp and mic it. Players that use volume control and varied picking may have issues. It seems to defeat the direct recording that the POD was made for.
i need some help..with live sound
i was curious. .does the mic and the sound equipment change the quality of a person voice? like does the mic quality change the sound of the person voice for better? also does the equipment quality do the same?
