Hi,
has someone some suggestion to make the loudest program for TV advertising?

I got some Cds new and old and I cannot believe sometimes in my ears whith the things I can hear.
I'm talking for Cds like: Evanescence, Anastacia, Chilly Peppers and many other Metal/Harcore Produktions.
No dynamic (the wave looks like a block) and the music distorts. In the beginning I thought that my monitors are dead or something.

What is your prefered media to recieve data/music on? and sent it to duplication on?

Right now it looks like a HD is the best choice.
Burning CD's give small dynamic differences and sometimes resonances, but i don't know about DAT.

I've been told there are two philosophies.

1. Add effects when recording a track, leaving minimal work for mastering ie. get it right on the way in.

2. Record dry and do all the effect selection when mastering.

I expect it depends on what works for each individual, and the complexity of the piece.

I have recently recorded my band with my own equipment and before I want to state my problem I will give you a list of the main equipment I used.

Protool 5.3.1 - digi design 001
Behringer eurorack mixer
AUDIX fusion mics - D6 kick
MXL condenser for vocals
Shure 57 for guitars

What is the best sounding mastering software for processing audio?
And what software has the best mastering plugins?

For now I'm using Logic with my selections of Waves and UAD plugins, but i feel i could get more out of working with a system like Sonic Solutions.

I did a live taping of a JOhn Mayer concert (he permits taping) using a minidisc and stereo mic. I would live to dump it on my Pc and have a shot at making it sound better. Currently it sounds quite boomy in the bottom end (b/c of teh subsin the FOH) and alittle distant. Can you suggest some way of making the recording sound :

since 1 month i'm now trying around with mastering with the C4. i've read some manuals about multiband compression but somehow i dont get in there. (i think) i know how to use my eqs and my compressors but when it comes to multiband compressors i'm totally unsure. a change here, a change there.. hm... sounds better.. really? ah i dont know... ;)
