hey guys, been messing around with a lot of midi lately... and Im trying to figure out how to bounce my midi tracks into audio file...Im assuming create an audio file, set the input to the output of my midi track?
anyways, just checking if I'm on the right path here.

Hey all - I've been reading a lot of threads on this site and gathered a lot of pertinent information. My desire is for a simple home studio to record MIDI and some audio into a laptop for sequencing and mixing. My budget is $2500 - I have no immediate need for mic's as I just want to lay down the music at this point.

I have a really crappy Casio midi keyboard, and I was wondering if I could use it as a controller for like... a plugin , or in my daw program, to say, turn on or off an effect or something.

I use plugins for live sound, and I have no way to change them in mid performance, and I dont have money to buy any midi controllers :p.

suggestions?

i'm looking for a piece of hardware that will perform a certain function and have had a rather hard time finding it. there are some vst plugins that will do this, but i really would like a hardware unit that will accomplish the same thing.

I have a problem setting up a guitar pre/effects thingy (Zoom 9030 from 1991). I'm trying to control the Zoom with Sonar 5. Patch changes, that's all. My desktop PC with Yamaha SW1000xg interface works fine with it. But my laptop with Alesis Io2 doesn't. All it does is change the patch to nr 01 every time I stop playback. Nothing else. The MIDI light flashes ok in the Io2.

My step-brother has an ol' keyboard a Casio CTK-700 "http://www.zzounds…" and I was looking to use it for MIDI with Sonar Producer, hooked up to my Firepod's MIDI In.

Hello people, i am looking to buy a midi controller keyboard and am a bit unsure which one to buy as there are so many out there. Could any one suggest which would be good for around the $200 mark.

Im a guitarist by trade and not much of a keys guy so I'm thinking I can d/l existing midi files and edit them...
there are plenty of free midi players, and u can see the separate instruments...but whats available to edit them?

Can someone please tell me what I need to do to get sound out of the other midi channels, For the life of me I only get sound when channel 1 is highlighted. if I highlight another channel I can still see the volume bar rising, but I get no sound.
