AM-Pulse is often mentioned as a great tool for mixing purposes. This is a partial truth, and it's about this great (and forgotten) plugin that I would like to write now.

From a thread on Reddit... an engineer friend of mine turned me onto this... and while it's a long read - it's a very interesting one, with audio examples given between Volume War mastering practices and a recent high res re-mastering which substantially reduced gain reduction.

I have a big project coming up i record in my home studio and dont have the money for outside mixing or mastering so i wanna be the best mixing/mastering engineer i can be for now and the future so any opinion is welcome neg or post-Thanks Zee

With the Grammy Awards tonight, it got me thinking about music in general, which led me to listening to arguably the greatest pop rock song of all time, Hotel California ("It's got everything." I once heard someone say.), and found this great live version.

How is the business trending? If you as a recording artist or label are getting your music mastered, are you happy with the result? If you are not, why not? Are you looking to cut vinyl?

If you are using a DSD production workflow, what equipment are you using, what have been your experiences, what needs to be done to make this workflow as easy (if possible) compared to PCM workflow?

my students some times record demos for class review, auditions etc and i usually do the mixing. nothing fancy, I use karaoke pre-recorded songs and I add their voice on top.

Hi all, I don't have monitors (only headphones, but I can't hear the bass very well), so I'm begging you if you can give me some advice about this song. I want to know if my mix is well before mastering. Any advice will be great.
