Micing drums
Problem...I have three drum mics (2 OH + kick) and only two XLR inputs on my stand-alone DAW. The two XLR inputs are also the only inputs with phantom power. Does anyone have a solution? Is there more than one solution?

Multiple vocal Micing - live recording
Please give some suggestions to this scenario:
(This is an on-going weekly effort):
I am recording a live jazz orchestra for delayed radio broadcast (and, later, cable TV & web). For now, this is being recorded straight to DAT - mixed on the fly. No o-dubbing, post mix work, etc.

Clean electric guitar micing
I have a Korg D12, and can get some nice clean almost acoustic sounds when going direct, but would liek to be able to get the sound I hear when I play through my amp. I use a single 15" sealed cab for my guitar. I really like the sound I hear when seated not far from my amp. What type of mic would be best for placing where my ears would normally be? I currently only have an SM-57.

room Micing drums/and a realy loud band
I'm gonna record a real loud band. I usually use a V-drums system for drums but this time I want to record the drums 'real' I can use a very good room (15mx10m and 4m high). I want to make good use of this room for recording the drums, i have a RODE classic mic for this.

MS Micing cord question
I am new to MS Micing and want to try it. I understand you need to use a figure 8 mic and make a cord where one input is out of phase with the other.

Guitar Micing too ambient
I've been do my own recording in my basement with some complete crap equipement (a tube preamp, 4 channel mixer, sm-57, large diaphragm condenser mic, 4 other dynamic mics), and a laptop. My budget is severly limited (university student here).

Drum micing/mics.
I have to rent some mics to mic up a drum kit. I would like 2 room mics, 2 overheads, 2 snare, 2 bass drum, tom and hat mics. I have an AT 4050 some 57's and a D112 already. I would love some recommendations on some mics I can rent to fufill my needs. Hopefully nothing to esoteric or hard to get as I have to find these hopefully fairly cheap. Opinions on Neumann km 184's or SM 81's?
