I'm looking for the best way to connect a JK Audio Hybrid phone patch with a Mackie 1202 VLZ Pro so when I speak into the mic the other party can hear me and I can hear him through my headphones. My gear list includes Delta 44, Symetrix 528E, 1202 and JK patch. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Looking at my options again when it comes to headphones. I've been using the Sony MDR-V700 DJ cans which aren't bad, but aren't fantastic either... They seem to translate pretty well, but the darned things are horribly built. I can't even count the numbers of pairs that I've broken, and true to Sony's wisdom, it costs more to fix them than to buy new ones.

So, we've all seen pictures of muli-million dollar studios, and their racks of gear. I'm curious how you properly monitor what it is you're doing when you turn 180 degrees away from the monitors, move 5 feet from the sweet spot, and another 4 feet to the left. What techniques are applied when using outboard processors in this situation.

I've been digging through the forums for some ideas on monitoring for recordings and mixes.

Tascam US-2400
PC with WinXP Pro, Pentium D930, ASUS P5WD2-E Premium, more than enough ram, etc.

my band will be performing live soon, and i want to be able to hear myself clearly while singing as well as save my hearing.

i dont have much first hand experience with these systems, i'm just familiar with how the headphones work, i own the Shure e2s for my ipod.

This is no doubt a function of my age, but I've begun to notice that I've lost a little hearing in my right ear. So, I'm running into trouble monitoring with headphones. I usually plug my phones directly into the deck that's getting the director's mix. I like to hear what he or she's going to hear on the CD that I will give them immediately after the performance.
