Hey ya'll, Im Ryan from Western New York and Im looking to set up a pro audion and lighting system to do sound/lighting for the local band scene. The locals here deserve much better than they are getting now. Im just wondering if I am in the right forum to ask for advice on getting the proper set up.

I'm planning on getting into recording quite heavily, and may have a great space to work come November and I was looking for some advice/opinions.

I only plan on recording instruments (guitar, drums, bass, vocals, keys, etc.)

1.***I have a G-Track USB microphone that I also use to plug my acoustic-electric guitar into. Is there a program that I can install on Vista that will allow me to sound like I'm playing different instruments when I'm playing my guitar? E.g., play note C on guitar and it will sound like piano, trumpet, mandolin, etc.

hi you guys, I need help please. I just got a CAD 49 tube condenser mic, and I can't get any sound off of it. I connected my CAD 49 condenser mic to the analog power supply using the 7-pin XLR connector into the mic in of the power supply. Then I connected my mic preamp which is bulit onto the Xenyx802 mixer to the output of the power supply using a 3 pin XLR.

recently i bought an at2020 from Audio-Technica, i bought the phantom power to go along with it its all hooked up but everytime i try to record with it it doesnt pick up any sound granted i dont have a mixing board i just have all electronic ones with the programs I'm using my buddy had the same predicament as i do but he messed with some stuff with his computer and fixed it up he just forgot w

I have a few questions for other VS-2480 users.

I just received a Roland VS-2480HD, external CD burner, and a VE-7000 channel edit controller.
There are no effects cards installed (just four empty board slots).

So, I want to start recording really soon. I want to record acoutsic guitar/electric guitar/ and vocals...I've talked to several friends who know some things about recording so they said all I needed was a mic, mixer, cables, stand, and computer.

My understanding is that you run it like this:

mic--> cable --> mixer --> cable --> computer -->software

I'm trying to record vocals, although I don't have all the equpitment I needed so I just did it to see what it would sound like. This is what I did it with:

-Dynamic Shure SM58 + windscreen
-XLR to Audio In cable to mac
-Compressor/EQ/Noise Reduction/etc on Logic 8
