The kind of VIs that I'm referring to are the array of plugins like Stylus RMX or NI's Guitar Rig that all output their effected signals as stereo. But what if, for example, one was recording a bass part with Guitar Rig where perhaps a final mono signal of such a take would be preferred to be finally printed to tape?

Hello, pls can anybody help me? I bought new Home desktop PC and I want to send out a digital audio output from Windows XP to send it my sound aparature by coaxial cable. I found some answers how to set up the digital output in Win XP, but i doesn't work. If I click Master Volume -> Play Control -> and then I can't click on Advanced, where it should be.

Can this be right?

It's just been pointed out to us that our Pultec MEQ-5 drops the signal level by almost 4 dB, which we've confirmed in our lab with a signal generator / analyser.

After changing ALL the valves the relative o/p level is now -3.5dB but I don't know if this particular unit is supposed to be "zero in, zero out" or if this signal drop is normal.

It seems that Cubase won't let you send the metronome output to an individual bus so that only the drummer can hear it. Any ideas? I can only think of syncing my drum machine and recording the analog click back into SX2. Thanks for your help.

On Apples site it states:

"Support for up to 12 input and output audio channels"

Will I be able to record up to 12 tracks simultaneously and only play back 12 tracks at a time?

I can deal with the 12 track input but output I neeed at least 24 tracks...anyone know for sure?

I am dealing with an older analog Tascam M208 8 channel mixer. It has 8 channel faders, four program faders 1,2,3 and 4 and two stereo master faders. It then has program assign buttons for each of the 8 channels so that either program 1-2 or 3-4 can be selected for each channel. My problem:

iv'e had my dbx 386 for some time now and i am still having trouble getting it to sing to my e-mu 1818 interface. there is no input in my S/PDIF dsp channel. Cubase clock source is set to S/PDIF but sample rate changes from the dbx don't affect the rate in cubase.
any ideas on what i might be doing wrong? what is dither and could this be a factor?

i have a br-1600 and i'm curious about how this works; do you need a program to export wavs, or does the computer just recognize your console as an external device and allow the wavs. to be transferred to it?

i'm trying to transfer a song i recorded from my br-1600 to my computer, and i'm using midi because it's the only jack on my sound card other than RCA, which would reduce the sound quality if i used it.
