I was wondering if any body knows if you can use pre existing programes to load into the roland expansion vs8 f board or deos the exiting companys such as IK make special plugins. I already own a lot of the programmes that roland is now supporting but I need some more info before purchasing this new expansion board :?

Anybody know of any quality free plugins? Is anyone familiar with the Blockfish plugs?

whats up! to anyone using Sonar 3, i was wondering if the plugins had automation capability... such as, if you only wanted lets say one snare hit to have the effect plugin trigger for only that moment, can that be done?

I'm considering getting a UAD-1 card and I've got a few questions:

* About how many plugins can it run at one time? I know each requires different amounts of resources but for example, how many Cambridge EQ's can be run at the same time?

It seems like their plugs, as popular and good sounding as they are, do eat up the DSP quickly.

I was wondering of any one can tell me how to automate vst instruments.
Particulary the Master Filter in Ilio's Stylus, and other global functions in DX plugins and vst plugins, such as Waves plugins, or t racks.

In running Cubase on MAc G5 OS X I have the stock Cubase effect plugins, i also have some freeware ones i have downloaded and use. I also have purchased and run a UAD-1 Studio PAK

That being said if you had this set up and did mainly acoustic based/pop/country what would you get next of these 3?

What do you think the must have plugins are?

I have the free Bomb factory set < nice little things but nothing really useful.

Diamond Plat 5.0. Nice set but somehow I don;t feel it's worth the cost.

Looking into geting some drums and the full set of Bomb factory.

What do you find to be the "must haves"?

ok, i hate to ask such a question, but i've got some plugins froma friend, and i got the vst-au converter. i've ran it and logic doesn't see them. does anyone know the proper procedure of enabling a new plugin in logic pro 6?

ok here's what i've got to sound the best(or most like other production out there)

KICK- goes these plugins in this sequence:

1. EQ (notching bad frequencies out, low/highshelving for thump)

2. Gate (obviously, isolating the kick)

3. COMPRESSOR (2-1 ratio, threshold with gain reduction down about 10db, attack is 23ms release is 120 ms and hard-knee.
