Bass DI (preamp) suggestions.
I am looking for something to record bass directly into my daw and also use live, preferrabley tube. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles, mostly just a preamp and compression type piece. I've already tried the Pod Pro for bass and didn't like it. I want something simple but of high quality. My budget is $1000. I've been considering several options which include:

DIY Preamp for Ribbon Mikes?
Being a newbie, a tinkerer, and one who is interested in recreating "that sound" from the early 60's obtained in some of those great jazz recordings, I have obtained my first really decent microphone; a Stephen Sank modified B&O. It has the sound I want, but the mixer boards I use have too much hiss and not enough gain.

One more Stupid mic preamp/compressor question:)
Hello... Just want some thoughts here... I have a Panasonic Da-7(pretty clean and transparenent pre's not much color at all.) into Mackie MDR/DP3.0 Setup. RNC compressors and some decent mics SM7's .57's, 4050 etc etc. Looking to put together one good channel of pre and compressor this year.

ld mic preampventative disaster
I just ordered a MXL V67M from Mars (after many recommend's)and shockmount. I've used a cad95ni small-dia. cond. mic, but this is my first ld mic. I'll be using my art tube mp for phant./pre. I know ldm's are supposed to be very sensitive and I hear you can mess em' up easy.

Best Mic Preamp for around $1,000
Yeah, now that you've all helped me so much to decide what Mic to buy, I realized that I really need a decent mic preamp to compliment the Soundelux U99 (I don't think I can wait for the Lawson for 3 months to get assembled). Any Idea's?

Mic/Preamp combo for Female Pop Vocals
Just wanted to get a list of mic/preamp combos that people are using to capture female pop vocals. The lady I'm tracking has a range similar to Celine Dion, Laura Fabian.
Thanks,
Allen :w:

Rauland pro204 mic preamp/mixer question
Hi all
I've had this thing sitting around for a couple of years now, not even sure if it works, but it looks super-clean! It's a Rauland pro204 4 channel mic preamp/mixer. The only trouble is, no indication of what kind of input voltage it needs for a power supply. I remember vaguely hearing 24V - but my memory's not trustworthy to risk it. Any advice?
Thanks!
