Just wanted to remind folks about a problem I encountered with AKG headphones years ago. The entire AKG headphone line is out of "absolute phase" with the rest of the world. This can be easily verified by placing one headphone cup over your mic and then sending a 1khz test tone from your daw to it and then record it.

What are phase problems/cancellation? I haveh eard about it being when two or more mics are "out of phase". i would love to know what this is/how to fix it/how to tell if it's happening. thanks.

Hey I don't know if this was brought up in the "overhead phase" post but I have heard of people switching the kickdrum's phase since its being miced (in most cases) from inside the sound hole or on the resonant head. Its just something that I don't hear it enough to think that it is worth it or right. I have tried it my self and i didn't really hear a difference.

maybe its here already, i didnt find it. .can any one post some in phase/ out of phase sound clips, maybe in high fidelity. .some of use may need some ear training.

How is it possible for the OH's to both be 180 degrees out of phase with the rest of the drum tracks? Mine were. fixed em, and they are the best sounding drums I've recorded hands down.

I am trying for the first time putting a mic on the bottom of my snare (sm57 on top, Audix d2 on bottom) and am curious about phase.

I'm a little confused about something. Do i need to have a regular sound card such as a Sound Blaster installed in my computer with the Terratec Phase? The reason i ask is because i don't see a speaker plugin on the terratec card. Help Me!

Can anyone help me? Twice now I have had tracks cut to acetate for vinyl production and the engineer said there were problems with the phase on my tracks. One of these tracks was a solo sound from a Roland JV1080 synth.
