Soprano and Piano setup for recording audition CD's?
Hi,
I'm interested in playing around with recording my wife's audition CD's. we have already hired a professional to record her current CD and will be hiring another pro to record a full CD later in the summer.
I would like to get a few pieces of gear (minimal) and start to play around with recording.

Microphone for Grand Piano Recording
Hi. I need to record myself playing a grand piano. The repertoire is classical: chopin, beethoven, rachmaninov, etc.
It will be recorded both at home and also when I play live in a variety of concert halls.

Piano and solo soprano
Hi,
I'm going to do a recording for a pianist and a solo soprano/mezzo, and I'm looking for some advice on placement and mic setup and such. It's a very nice hall (this) and I have access to nice mics (DPA:s, Neumann, AKG, Royer and more) and pres (milennia & RME Micstasy). Please geek out with advice :)

Monitor speaker for grand piano, similar sound to HD-650s?
Can anyone recommend an active monitor with sound characteristics similar to the Sennheiser HD-650s? I like the 650's liquid mids, relaxed highs, and strong but not bloated bass.
I work exclusively with solo classical piano material and my room is 12x16.
Baby Grand Piano Recording
Hi everyone,
I have a session booked to record a baby grand piano over an Algerian fusion group which I recorded half live / half overdubbed percussion. The playing style of the pianist will be kind of cuban jazz and I want to know the best way to capture such a genre.
