Cleaning a pop filter
Forums
I don't want to rip it, should I just wet it and let it air dry or is there a better way? I'm surprised its not in my assistant engineers handbook by Tim Crich.

Pop Filters - Which to use?
Forums
Many of you know I am going to pick up a AT4040 next week. with a popfilter a preamp, for doing podcast development. I had a pop filter picked out, which was the kind that is a glove style goes over the top of the mic. There is also the other style which hangs in front of it and circular. Is there a audio benefit to either of them.

Hello,
I want to buy the http://www.rodemic…"]RODE Podcaster[/]="http://www.rodemic…"]RODE Podcaster[/] microphone. The specification said that it has built-in pop filter.

It's the most bizarre thing I've ever seen wrapped around a microphone, in a professional setting no less!

Pop filter material questions...
Forums
I've seen many different versions of pop filters that mount on the vocal mic stand. I have a generic fabric one that seems to do okay. Is there a noticable difference when using one that's made of something else? Is it a worthwhile investment? Or will a fabric one do?

Pop filter madness
Forums
So, I was buying a pop filter the other day, and it seems there actually are choices. I've only used the panty hose kind, and they seem to work just fine (until the gooseneck falls down, or the clip fails me)
I saw these metal mesh pop filters that saposedly "force" the air down and away from the mic instead of stopping it from moving toward the mic.

What's the low down on the metal pop filters?
To my knowledge they don't absorb some of the sound like nylon filters. which allow the tones and frequencies to pass, but still blocking plosives and air (pops)
?
