I have a friend who's getting married this summer. It's an outdoor service in a park far away from any electrical service. However, they do expect ~100 people and would like sound amplification for people speaking, and for the musical components of the service and I offered to do the sound.

first off, i am close to a beginner when it come to recording drums. i did it a couple times before and it sounded great, but i had to pre-mix everything and there was no mastering involved.

Now I just need a new compact PA system for fill using my new StudioLive 24.4.2. I would be showcasing acoustic music so quality high-endis paramount.
I'm totally out of touch with new systems. Its been 12 years since I shopped for PA gear. I was doing big clubs moving air. This is the opposite that I need.

Have been advised to go for the MOTU set up for quality and ease of set up?

What's your suggestion interms of reasonable price with quality so?

USB or FW? cause, some of the device will causing the buzzing sound or noise while pair with Portable Computer like MacBook Pro...

digi 02 rack into my mac.
Then doing a rough mix using 4 different
headphones ( all cheapos )swapping between passes.This works
to a point where I try and find a happy medium and resonable sound

ity - does such a thing exist? I know the Edirol R-09HR can do about 1V (+2 dBu IIRC), but it's a little more than I would like to pay, and I would like even more voltage if possible.

Would prefer a lossless recording format but MP3 or ATRAC is not a dealbreaker for me.

I am a professional violinist, looking for advice on a portable digital recorder to use in daily practice and recording of rehearsals. I want something small enough to always have it in my fiddle case, yet deliver sound quality good enought from the build in mics to use in demo recordings for my website.
