So this is a big debate of mine.. i am looking to get a new interface to work with pro tools to start my new recording project. I have looked around a bit, but love the Firepod. It has 8 XLR inputs and its half the price of the 001. Which is better for the money in your opinion that is. Does the firepod even interface with pro tools?

i have the spirit LX7. there are three XLR outs (mixL,mixR,mono)and 8 balanced direct outs per channel 1thru8.

right now I'm using all three XLR outs of the soundcraft into channels 1,2,&3 of the firepod and the balanced direct outs from 5 other channels into the 4thru8 firepod channels,using TRS cables.

Hey,i just bought a firepod and it seems as if channels 1&2 work pretty good but channels 3 - 8 dont have any gain. i couldnt get them to clip if i had to.

i turn the gain controls up to 11 o clock for channels 1&2 but the other channels need to be fully cranked to get any level.

i'm thinking about buying the ART TPSII 2-Channel Tube Preamp System, would the preamps be better then the ones in the firepod, and if so how would i connect it to the firepod so that it by-passes the firepods preamps.. do i simply connect it to the inputs on the back?

So i just picked up a PreSonus Firepod and i tried to install it but when i click instal it says "An error occured that prevented Cubecase LE from Installing" Anyone know whats wrong, i could really use some help!

My step-brother has an ol' keyboard a Casio CTK-700 "http://www.zzounds…" and I was looking to use it for MIDI with Sonar Producer, hooked up to my Firepod's MIDI In.

I have been recording full bands with my PreSonus Firepod for about 6 months now. Overall, I am very happy with the firepod's quality and ease to use the product. But after a while, i have been looking into another PreSonus product called the Eureka.

I've been using Acid with the Firepod on a PC (AMD 1.8ghz with 256 ram) and noticed that it will jitter when the playhead crosses over sliced looped sections or when tracks that weren't previously played are played. I've upgraded the firmware, but it has only improved the situation a little.

I recently recorded a live gig using my laptop and 2 firepods and Cubase sx3.

The first set went well. But the 2nd set I had problems.

It seems that 8 of the 16 channels of audio where recorded at a different sample rate and/or bit rate.

I've been thinking of getting a Firepod. It seems to be the best all-around firewire interface unless I was willing to blow $1500 on an RME Fireface. I like the fact that it includes preamps for all 8 inputs, but I have one question.
