I just did a recording last night with some new gear and I thought I'd share. The recording was Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto (along with King Stephan Overture and Symphony No. 4 as well) - the pianist was absolutely phenomenal even if the piano was only mediocre.

I finally have my HD8CD but need a little help on setting it up.

Here is my equipment:

Keyboard, Sound Module, Active Monitor Speakers, HD8CD.

Sometimes, I am going to want to practice the piano, without having it hooked into the HD8CD... how can I go about this?

I have a MOTU 8pre interface. I'd like to use pro-tools and I'd like to have some extra channels to record my drums.

Could I get a Digidesign interface and chain the two and use PT?

Or is DigiDesign like i think they are and prevent all that?

I've been experimenting for several years now, and without making this a thread of "boost this and cut that", "use this not that". I was wondering if there is a useful reference (book, CD, etc) for drum eq/compression/gate/etc available (in addition to my ears and creative experimentation).

I'm looking for an interface that'll allow me to record- lets say a drum track-
and be able to see each individual mic as a track on my computer screen (i'm using Ntrack) and be able to raise and lower the volume and pans of multiple tracks with this interface
Would that have to be a midi interface?

I have a budget of under 400

I've been looking at getting into synth now for quite some time now and recently it has become possible for me to afford one. Although I've tried to do as much research as I can I feel the only way to really be able to recommend something like this is too have a past experience since I do not have a very good idea on how these operate. So thats what brought me here.

Hello. I'm wanting to know a few quick tips on using the midi piano roll in pro-tools. I understand the basics, I've been using sequencers for years but this one just seems really clunky. I feel that there are guidlines I should know before deeming it so quickly. Afterall it's currently the only midi environment I own.
