A recording of a Mozart violin concerto
Forums
Greetings,
I spent the last couple of days finishing this recording of the first movement of Mozart's A-major violin concerto, No. 5 - the Allegro aperto movement. It's been recorded under not very ideal acoustic surroundings, so I added a bit of artificial reverb and EQed it slightly overall to a degree I found acceptable.

Recording cello & violin?
Forums
I am going to record some kids that play very well this weekend. The instruments are cello, violin and acoustic guitar. This is a recording for the grandfather so it is purely for memories. My question is what mics should I use? Very limited mike selection. SM57, Studio project C-1. B1, and some other dynamic mics (AKG). I also have an Audix drum pak with 5 mics.

Recording a solo violin in stereo or mono
Forums
Hi, I'm just starting out and want to exclusively record solo violin. I wondering if it's better to record it in stereo or mono? Considering that I'm just starting out, would it wiser to spend my dollars on a better quality mono setup or a lesser quality stereo setup. Thanks.

Recording a violin and drum duo
Forums
Hello all,
I would like to do next month a recording of "folk music"in a valley at the northwest of my province, Tucumán, Argentina.
This recording is very important for me because the musicians are now 80 years old and perhaps soon they will be no more playing.

Mic placement recording a violin?
Forums
Hi! I'm in need for some helpful information here about Micing violin. I'm going to record it tomorrow so I need it ASAP. The main question is, how should I place the mic? Distance, angle etc. It's a single violin but I'm going to record something like 10-16 overdubs. This will be used on top of sampled strings, so I want it to sound like a part of an orchestra not like a solo.
