Dynaudio BM5A Sufficient power for 18 x 13 room?
Hi All,
Is 50W output enough power for a room of that size (18 x 13) with relatively high ceiling... Appreciate any comments/advice. Thanks.
Cosmo
Monitor speakers and room size... a disheartening dilemma!
I'm putting together a bedroom studio and was at first thinking about getting the KRK V6 MKII's for my near field monitors new at guitar center... Then I saw that I could get a set of legendary Mackie HR-824's used on ebay for about the same price ($700 range). My main reservation is that my room might be too small for speakers of this size.
Recording the Sound of a Room
I wondered if you had any thoughts...
I want to record the difference between a room with and without extensive acoustic treatment. I am setting up a small business selling nicely made stuff that would not look out of place in a persons living room, but is also very high quality.

Live Sound: Starting with Room Demensions MATH/Software
Did a search and did not find this so here goes.
Instead of starting with equipment, would like to start with a room and do the math or use software to determine how much wattage to put in it to obtain a certain dB.
Anyone know where to start to get there?
Room is approx 100x60x20.
Standard sheetrock walls.
Carpeted Floors
Thanks,
TNT
What room dimensions should be enough for serious recording?
I would like to have an advice from anybody on the room dimensions I should strive to get, for both studio and control room.
I would like to record small bands (drums, couple of guitar amps and a singer) as well as individual vocalists (with acoustic guitar as an option).
Micing room for stereo, need some advice on mics!
I own a venue and I am recording the shows right now by tracking each instrument. Its working, just too much bleed to get that great recording. The room sounds amazing so I want to record the stage area and the mix that with the vocals. Im looking at these two mics..just kinda wanted to see if anyone on here has anything bad or good to say about these two mics.
help Micing a venue for room/crowd sound.
Hello,
I'm planning to record a live show as multitracks.
I have to set my pair of RODE NT5 to get the room/crowd sound.
How would you set up those mics?
high? pointing the stage? Pointing the audience?
ORTF? X-Y ?
Well, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Headamp in Recording Room ?
Hello there :-)
Just finishing the plans for a new studio and wondering about something :
What is your personal opinion ? as the recording engineer, better to put headamp in control room to change the level myselffor the musician, or to put headamp in recording room and let the musician change the level himself ? What are your experiences ?
Greetz,
Heiko

Max Headroom and Darth Vader. .
How do you produce these with DAW software:
1) The studder effect of Max Headroom ? Ca-Ca-Ca-Catch the wave...
I can stack/cut/paste vocal loops in a multitrack, but this seems tedious. Is there a specific plugin for this?
2) Darth Vader glass jar effect ?
What kind of Reverb/Effect combination would this be?
