I'm a senior in high school
and an aspiring recording artists
i'm just having trouble right now debating on
whether i should go to college or not for my career?
Because I have found this great school to go to
for being a recording artists
but then again on the other hand
do you really need college to be successful in the

so i went into guitar center looking for monitors. i was about to resign myself to ordering the Wharfedale 8.2's or buying the KRK Rokit 8's or the M-Audio BX8a monitors they had up there. Then i got a listen to the Yamaha hs80m speakers they had just gotten in.

Is it just me or are these things really friggin' good?

I am a newbie in desperate need of advice.
I would like to put a pc recording studio together. I was told all I would need is an Imac g4, firewire, Pro Tools, speakers, and a mic. Does this sound accurate.

I need help. I am a female rapper who needs to get a studio together like yesterday.

Somebody tried any of these mics? How do they sound? Are they worth considering or are they the same old budget mics from china?

Hey everyone, I'm about to be a highschool senior and I've begun searching for schools to attend for my post-highschool education. I want to take my skills at recording beyond just being a hobby. I would like to see my self as not only a producer/mixer/ maybe masterer (I have great ears), but as a helpful aid to the musician(s).

I like my KM184's but would someone suggest an alternative for a more aggressive sound(deep lows, pointed, snappy). I'm going for that NuMetal drum sound like Korn, Tool, Godsmack, etc.

The KM184's are bright enough, but have a warm, round, woody quality that boxes out my snare a bit on drum OH's.

where did everyone learn howto record and mix? did anyone here goto college for it or did most of you just read a lot of books? whats the best way to learn?

i have planned to use Sony DMX R100 with MADI interface to MAC G5 have RME HDSP MADI card

on my Mac am planning to use Logic pro 7

I just can't get a good Drumset recording. I've tried everything. I can now (after a week) get a decent drumset recording, but not near what I want. I'm getting there, but I can't get anything better than what I have. I've tried multiple mic placements, volumes, etc.
