Desirable Signal to Noise Ratio
Just wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom on this topic. I know it's not a simple question to answer, but I don't have any mics that have a worse signal to noise ratio below the mid 70s A-weighted. In practice, is a mic with an S/Nr in the low 70s going appear very noisey?

6. Out to KRK V8's
Tape signal to amp
What's the crack with re-amping a bass signal for example. I've recorded through a DI and now want to send that signal to an amp. As the signal is obviously now line level will that damage the amp? Or can I still just patch from tape into the amp head?
Thanks

Amp picking up radio signals
Anyone know any techniques for preventing radio signals from being picked up by the guitar amp? The amp I've been using is a Mesa Single Rectifier Combo.

signal chain
After many months of hard work in my small home studio I finally finished my first song, although it is no great masterpiece there was a lot of knowledge gained from my experience. What’s more important are the questions that arose from this practice.

signal chain help?
ok.. so I'm attempting to create my own guitar amp out of seperate components and I need help putting everything in the right order.
The idea is to get the best guitar tone I can possibly get direct to disk. No mics, no cabinets and no angry neighbors.

signal path
Hi folks,
I'm mixing a project with Motu/Mac/Digital Performer. I have a question regarding plugins in the channels. Should I EQ first and then compress, or vice versa. Any advice or opinions would be appreciated.
thanks from my mixing madness,
Chris Paulson

I only receive a signal on the left channel.
PLEASE HELP! I'm recording with a delta 1010 with cool edit 2.0 and I only receive a signal from the left channel. I hooked my mic up to my soundblaster and it worked fine. Even in the control panel(of the 1010) where I have my mic hooked up to(HW 1/2 in)only the left level meter moves. I get nothing on the right. why is this?

Splitting the mic signal
Hi! (new on this forum...)
Well, I have a small problem with splitting mic signals. I plan on doing some live recording and have to split all the mic signals. Do I have to split with a active unit (I noticed they are pretty expensive...), or could I just split the cables?
/julle
