I am looking for a new mixer, I will use it for my keyboard (motif 8) and mic, Shure 58, and also sometimes guitar. What do you think would be the best one to get for that kind of set up in the 100-200 dollar price range.

Hi everybody, I'm new on this forum.
I just have a little question:
My mixer's analog outputs (Yamaha DM1000) are connected to a pair of Mackie monitors.
Considering the quality of DM 1000 built in converters (which shouldn't be bad), how much I would benefit if I buy an external dac, like the Benchmark DAC1 or Apogee Rosetta 200 for monitoring?

I'm looking for books that have multi-layered percussion instrument rhythms. The book I'm thinking of would have each instrument's part written out with suggestions on what combinations of instruments and/or rhythms work together to produce a "feel". There might be a section for Latin, African, Carribean or other ethnic styles.

Ive browsed round this site for a while looking for a definate answer to my question. But the content is so strewn about, with no definate answers to my question:

What is a great mic for distorted electric guitar?

Has anyone had any possitive experience with Guitar Modelers like: Amp Farm, Amplitube, etc?

Has anyone been able to get usable guitar tones through them? I have heard about using Amp Farm with lots of other instruments such as vocals and even drums... but havnt heard much positive feedback in regard to actual 'guitar'...

Anyone found any tricks?

Sorry for the imposing a MIDI topic but I need some help...

I'm not a MIDI guy at all but I have to use MIDI strings for a project that I'm doing. I got my hands on the Quantum Leap samples (which sound really good), but I'm just finding that I don't have the "MIDI chops" to make them sound as good as I know they can.

Any suggestions?
