PC soundcard suggestions for recording my vinyl LPs to CDRs
Hello,
It's great to find this site. I just discovered it.
I see a lot of discussion about professional recording, mastering, and recording live music on computer - (which I used to do) but I can't find much about simply transferring vinyl LPs to CDRs. So here's my question.
$15K budget, opening new studio. comments/suggestions?
hey everyone,
I have decided to take the plunge and open a studio. I have a few pieces of decent gear that have got me along up to this point but have been looking at gear purchases to put me into a much more pro class of gear and sound results.
New DAW suggestions
I'm planning on building a new DAW sometime soon'ish. Here are the specs I've settled on so far after a small amount of research:

Suggestions needed for location recording tonight.
Folks.
In 8 hours time I have to record a woman singing, unaccompanied, at a function tonight.
She wants any Micing to be "invisible". She has a huge theatrical kind of voice.
I'll be using a laptop and an Mbox2. So a 2 channel recording is it.
Mics at my disposal are:
1x TLM-103
1x MXL V67
2x AKG C-535
Sound Card Suggestions
Well after toiling with this decision for a while I am going to make a move towards building myself a Cubase/Nuendo rig. I have already spec'd a computer (Dual CPU Dual Opteron - ooooohhh! (y) ).
My goal is to build a system that can handle up to 32 I/O's. I need some suggestions on sound cards. Most of the sound cards I have researched can only handle 16 inputs.

Looking for keyboard suggestions!
I'm a beginner looking for a decent keyboard that isn't TOO expensive (under $300 US). I want it to be portable, decent sounding and have at least 61 keys. I want to use it away from the computer but I'd also like MIDI capabilities for when I get comfortable enough to lay down piano/synth tracks in my home recorded music.
What are some decent brand names to shop for?

Studio desk suggestions!
So I'm about to complete my studio. I'm looking for an inexpensive studio desk/solution. I don't need a ton of horizontal desk space, so a BIG desk isn't needed. What is most important is elevating my computer monitors. What I'd like to do is get a desk that lifts the computer monitors and allows me to rack some of my gear beneth it. Here is an example...

Suggestions for Kick and Bass Guitar Mixing
So,it seems most of my business is metal/metalcore music.I can get an acceptable sound. But i want better than acceptable. Its not good enough to get a great kick sound and bass sound because i cant get them to sound like the CDs I'm referencing.Im lacking a presence in the bass guitar usually. Most songs in this genre just bury the bass and bring the kick out as much as possible but id rather not

Suggestions needed - what to use on a Leslie?
Hi all,
Just wondering what mics the folks here would use to mic a Leslie cabinet (from a Hammond B3 of course). Hi and Lo ideally - not necessarily stereo.
Looking for ideas for my next mic purchase, I guess...
Thanks in advance!

recording booth suggestions
Well i got a nother question.
What would i need to construct a simple recording booth?
something that would allow me to scream as loud as i want without the neighbors or people in the next room to hear significantly.
Like what materials? plywood? sheetrock?
What kind of foam and what brand? bass traps, acoustic tiles, etc.
