i have a basic drum microphone recording kit. It has 4 different microphones. I aslso have a Tascam soundcard with two mic inputs for live recording and another two inputs. I currently am thinking about getting a macbook for my recorsding laptop. is this good? and if i need more inputs should i get another soundcard and move up to a mixer?

it has S/PDIF out and in does that mean i can run S/PDIF out into another Tascam 1641 and have 20 channels?

I've been trying to get a this Tascam interface to work for a while now, and not having much luck.

It will record onto a digital audio track in Logic, but the latency (delay) is terrible and unusable. (both the recording and the monitoring)

Trying to move recording to the comp. At least vocals. Anyone know the proper setup for this combination. Transport buttons work. Sliders seem to work no I really don't think its hocked up properly. I am familiar with midi pedal controllers. Do you have to set up each control like that or is there a academic setup that will get me familiar.

ok so basically my band has recorded a track onto the Tascam dp-02 and we have uploaded it to the PC. When we listen to it, we can barely hear it because it is so low even with my volume on high. When we first recorded it, nothing was on low..even when we mastered it, we put it pretty high.

How do I hook up my PA system up to my Tascam DP-02?

I bought a Tascam 788 DAW a few years ago while on holiday in the UK(I'm from Cape Town South Africa BTW 8) )

So, I am using my dell inspiron 5150 laptop, cakewalk home studio 2002, my Tascam us-144 audio interface, and an mxl 990 for vocal recording my sound card in my laptop is a sigmatel audio sound card. My issue is after I lay down the acoustic guitar track and I go back to record vocals. Well, like the title states, I have latency issues.

do I have to use a mixing board to be able to hear what I am, and have, recorded
