Vintage Mid 70's Neumann U87 Mic
Hey guys need your expert opinion. I've stumbled across a Neumann 1970's era U87,.. now the grill is a bit beat up and it is 30 years old. .are there any concerns or "red flags" I should be on the look out for with a mic this old?. He's asking 1,600 for it is this a fair asking price?...I am somewhat aware of this Mic's brilliant reputation but everything has a shelf life.

Serial number charts for vintage Neumann microphones
Anybody know if there exists a serial number chart for vintage Neumann mics ? Like the ones available for old grand pianos where you can look up the serial number and get to know the year it's manufactured in. Just out of curiosity (no big deal if I never know) I'd like to know what year my vintage Neumann is made. The serial number is there so it should not be impossible... Any tips ?
Good Old Vintage Keyboards
I'm starting to aquire a lust for a few vintage keys to add to my arsenal. Top of the list would be a new Mini-Moog synth. Second, a refurbed Hohner D6 Clav. Third, a refurbed Hammond B-3 w/ matching Leslie (for the studio). These 3 are what I'd crave to get my hands on.

Vintage Sennheiser Repair
I've got a pair of Sennheiser MD421's that are sounding a bit nasty and distorted, and I'd really like to get them looked at by a reputable tech somewhere...
Anyone got any suggestions?
They are a U5 and a U3 that has the Tuchel connector replaced by an XLR connector.
Thanks!

Vintage U47 or M49. what are they worth?
I am working with a local pro audio dealer on a studio upgrade which includes a mic or two plus some SSL and API pres.
They just dropped off an old U47 (ser#726) and M49 for me to try out over the weekend :D . Since we are looking at about 20" plus of snow here over the next 2 days I will have lots of time to try these out (I also have 3 extremely talented singers!).

Vintage Wamer Tips?
After hearing such good things about the PSP Vintage Warmer, I picked one up a couple of months ago.
I really haven't spent a lot of time with it yet, but was curious how others are using it.
Any comments, tips, suggestions?
Thanks!

Vintage Gear
Did you know that most of your sampled sounds come from vintage gear. Not everthing but most of what your hearing does. Take a Moog (now called Big Briar) for example. This synth has been out since the beginning of time (just kidding). There's nothing that'll sound like it, at least from an original standpoint. The same apllies to a D-6 Clav made by Hohner.
