those high end vintage mic remakes

Forums

hi guys, i've been reading a lot about companies that do expensive remakes of the old classic mics (U47, C12, ELAM 251 etc), but unfortunately the majority of the info i can find comes from the companies own web sites or web sites that sell the brands. obviously not the least biased information. i've been checking out designs by wagner, korby and soundelux.

Vintage dbx A1 Soundfield omnidirectional speakers

Anyone familiar with dbx A1's? I have an opportunity to buy a pair of these and I'm planning on reselling. The controller box is not with the speakers(I believe the controller is simply a "tuned" high-low filter and could probably be easily reproduced).

I can't find much info on them, they must not have made/sold many. But what I have found says they are the ultimate in speakers.

new member: need help with vintage RCA schematics

hi,
I need some help with schematics for two vintage compressors
1-RCA BA-25a
2-RCA ba-43 / RCA ba-45

the ba-25 is a 6386 vari-mu compressor. (I need a 6386 tube too)
the ba45/43's work as a pair. one is a compressor the other is aprogram amp.

I have searched the web to no avail. I hope someone here can help me.
thanks

IS there a BOOK / WEBSITE covering vintage pro audio gear?

Is there a book/website that meticulously covers vintage pro audio equipment (analogous to a history of marshall amplifiers book, or ampwares - the fender amp website - specifications, materials, transformers, etc.) BUT for mic preamps, compressors, eq's, consoles, analog tape machines, etc.

Help! Can anyone identify this vintage jazz microphone?

Forums

I cant seem to post a photo but if you look on the inside cover of coltranes a love supreme there are 2 right over elvins drums.
They look like Neumann small diapragm condensers with a funny
globe ball basket on the ends ( like a big ball)
Any info is greatly appreciated, i.e. Make model, condenser?, transformer? tube?
Thank you[/img]
