Behringer Vintage Series Problems
I have a Tube Ultra gain 1953 by Behringer (Vintage Series)
When connected to any audio source (in this case straight to an sm57) after a couple minutes of total silence it makes a terrible ammount a static / wind sounding noise.
Any ideas?

Old(vintage) or New
Why would anyone, with todays plethora of high-tech high-end manufacturing techniques and quality contol done by autobots, want anything old and possibly a liability in their studio?
Thats the question children. Step up and say what ya mean.

Reconstructing vintage mic cables
Unless I'm completely stupid, which is a distinct possibility, I didn't see a forum specifically for this sort of thing, so I'm sticking it here.
I've got a few vintage dynamic microphones that require a special four prong connection at the mic. I've got one such working cable. This cable boils down to an unbalanced quarter inch plug.

Pricing on an OLD vintage mixer?
I don't know if anyone could help me on this. .but I've had this old mixer and extender sitting in my basement for a few years. I decided to put it on Craigslist, but I have no idea what it is worth. and can't find ANYTHING about it on the interweb. I thought it wasn't worth much, so I put it up for $50. .within an hour I already had a bunch of interested buyers emailing me.

Engineering a vintage sound
Hey gang, I've recently switched from working on electronic stuff to working on more organic material. For most of these tracks I'm looking to dial up a sound that's similar to early Motown, Phil Specter's "Wall Of Sound" and what-not.

Vintage guitars and amps, need advice for recording
I'm not a professional in the music world, but I have been collecting guitars and amps for about 30 yrs. Vintage studio gear? What was used? 1960's and 70's
I've been having a hell of a time trying to find any info on vintage recording gear commonly used. Maybe some knowledgeable folks here can offer some insight.
In particular I'm curious about the equipment used and the engineering behind the rock recordings of the 60's and 70's.
Dirty Vintage Vocal Sound?
what do you think is the bet way to get a dirty vocal sound like some of the early 60's rock bands. Vintage mics? Any suggestions. I really like the sound of the vocals from this one band from seattle called the sonics. Check it out and let me know if you have any ideas?

Vintage C414
I have the opportunity to buy 1 or 2 vintage C414, the original model with the thumbwheel on the bottom that connects it to the base/cable.
Any idea what they're worth?
Will one match fairly well with C414 B-ULS mikes for narration?

Vintage Crystal Mic seeks use
I recently came across a Midland 22-104 Dual Crystal Microphone and I'd like to see how it sounds as an effect mic. Can anyone tell me how I could rig this up to use for recording? Obviously the 4-pin female plug (CB style, shown in picture) will need to be XLR male, but how do I go about doing this?
