Choral or vocal + stereo mics?
I run a project studio in an old, large church.
While I don't typically do acoustic work, the space does lend itself to such a thing, and the owner approached me today w/ a few ideas.
He's interested in having a choral group perform/record. Also a more tribal vocal (chant) + hand drums + harmonium + flute group.

vocal chain thoughts
Hi all! Been a while. Well, I'm recording a female vocalist, and I am going to try everything I have on her initial demos to see what works best with her voice. Not that I have much, but it is what it is! I'm looking to see what the folks here think would be the go-to chain (with what I have) for a bluesy female voice, not having heard it...this is more of an exercise.

Need recommendations for vocal recording interface
A friend of mine wants to record audio tracks for cartoons. All he is concerned about is getting decent vocal recordings. He currently has an AT2020 mic and needs an interface. Budget is $100-150, maybe a bit more. If someone could at least point us in the right direction on what to start looking at, that would be great.
Lush Vocal Harmonies
Okay, I thank the folks who replied to this post last time. But, those weren't the answers I was looking for. I guess I'm asking a multi-tiered question. In my limited studio experience I have not had the opportunity to work with a REALLY good harmonizer unit Eventide/T.C./etc. My initial question is does anyone recommend one over the other? For what reason?

Backing vocal harmonies/ What is best to use?
One thing that I, in my very limited studio experience, have not had the pleasure of working with, is Harmonizers/voice doulers...etc. I was just listening to Crossfades song "Colors" and was wondering if any of you big sharks out there, know what type of harmonizer they were using.
Vocal mixing
I'm about to record a new song but I am trying to get my vocals mixing to sound similar to the link below. I'm not quiet sure what this person used but if someone can help me out it would be great.

Best Vocal Condenser under $150?
I was looking at the MXL 990 and ruled that out (with your guys help!) And am thinking about the AT2020.
I could find that for $70 at a shady website, or for $100 at musiciansfriend or sweetwater.
Are there any option major options I should be considering?
I understand that they are all cheap, but my mortgage isn't
Thanks for the help!

What vocal effects does Dan Auerbach from the Black Keys use
Dan Auerbach has an amazing voice.. But i am more interested on how he mixes his vocals. I run a home studio with Logic Studio. What effects, Eq, would you use to get the sound you hear in his voice on Black Keys Records
Fixing drum bleed in vocal track
Good Evening RO,
Does anybody have any ideas or know how to get a vocal track clean from drums/acoustic guitars bleeding into the mic on a live multitrack recording?
I did a session years ago before I had better technique in getting a live multitrack recording.
I would like to get the vocal isolated so I can fine tune and bring it up in the mix.

screaming vocal track?
Recorded a hardcore band and the screamer was very inconsistant and his scream is a bit weak and breathy at times.
What's the best way to beef them up and make them more consistant? Compression? Delay?
Thanks for the help
