How do you get that detatched sound in vocal recordings?
I was listening to the A capella version of Tupac's "R U Still Down" comparing it to my A capella vocals and it is pretty much the same. I run into problems when I mix the music with the vocals. How do you get that same sound after the mix?
Thanks for the Guidance!

cleaning up vocal recording
I need help in figuring out how, if possible, to clean up the echo sounds in a vocal recording. I have some recorded vocals and they sound good when listened to through regular speakers, but when listend to through head phones the echo of the room they were recorded in really stands out and sounds awful. Is there a way to remove that in software?

vocal effects processor
I am new to recording and am interested mostly in recording piano an vocal/choral music. Both my wife and I are classical trained singers. I also have a lot of choral music that I have composed and would like to quickly record without having to put together a choir.

Female Vocal Mic, Pt 2
I'm sure everyone's busy this time of year, but it's been rather dull lately reading the same two or three threads with little news to add... So, here's yet another topic about female vocal mic choices.

good vocal mixing? i need a start.
ive been listening to some albums and I'm so jealous of how they get mixed. i hear these vocals that are just soooo clear and sound like they are in the room with you. to be specific, I'm stuck on chevelles newest CD. at any rate, not long ago i started mixing and ive been playing with different effects to bring the vocals out and make them clearer.

Getting vocal to sit in the mix
I recently recorded a friend's band in my home studio. Acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums and vocals. The peformances were good, and I am pretty happy with the sound of everything. We are mixing it now, and the comment I keep getting is that the vocal does not seem to "sit" in the mix like commercial recordings.

Switchfoot Vocal FX
Has anyone been successful at recreating the Vx effects that were used on John Foreman's lead vocals in "Dare You to Move"? What's your best guess?
Thanks.

tips on creating very present/dynamic vocal sound in a mix
Im looking for that very expensive vocal sound in the mix, used on many records you hear on the radio. I have the equipment that should take me there. I have 2x 4040s and a Marshall electronics tube condenser with nice preamps. Any VST plugins or other tips to make the vocals sound right in your face with a very full/present sound. thanks
BASIC VOCAL PROCESSING (WHAT TO DO)
HALLO, PLEASE COULD SOMEBODY IN DETAILS TELL ME WHAT THE BASIC PROCESSES ARE FOR FRESH (DRY) RECORDED VOCALS. WHAT IS MOSTLY A GOOD THRESHOLD, ATTACK/REALEASE/GATE/ WHEN USING COMPRESSORS? WHAT IS THE PROPER ORDER WHEN YOU WANT TO APPLY EQUALAZATION, DELAY, ENHANCERS, EXCITERS AND REVERB?
