I have very recently bought a Lynx Lynxone soundcard, I got a good price on it which was too good to pass up. However my scant knowledge of the DAW means that now I'm without a breakout box I'm unsure as to the best means of inputting audio and midi to the card. I play guitar and bass and will want to mike up acoustic instruments. I used to DI instruments to the breakout box on my through an ART tube mp and was moderately satisfied with the improvements in the signal this preamp afforded and would be happy for it to be included in my new set up. I used to input midi devices via USB and at present have no plans of including any external midi devices other than a keyboard controller. I favour monitoring using headphones and my old card had a simple 1/4" jack socket in the breakout box. Is there a reasonably priced solution to the fact that the lynx has no breakout box in the form of a device that will afford the same 'tidiness' and ease of use without compromising the sound of the card? I only need a couple of I/Os in addition to a convenient headphone socket. Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
