does anyone know of an up market mic designed for heavily distorted guitars, something that will retain the warmth and richness of the tone while not hardening at higher sound levels?

Hmm....I'm assuming you mean a Brauner VM1??

Do you mean the KH Edition?

I find it a bit odd that any one would drop $8K on a microphone and then actually need anyone's advice on what mic to use for what source.

It's a bit like a chef buying Le Creuset cookery, Shun knives and then asking..."what's a good seasoning to add to risotto?"

ha ha ha, I didn't pay anything like that, I know someone in the trade.

That is for strings, I need something that is for this particular job!, would you recommend the Royer 121/122 as well, reading some stuff on the net, it does sound like the ideal thing!.

That analogy is kinda off as well, I would say it is more like the designer of a f1 car talking car design with a rally car designer.......ok so mine was poor as well.

back to mic's
