Check this out,

Great talent, which I unfortunately never got the opportunity to mix until after it was released. Maybe next time I get the credit :)

Hi Chris... You "Better by Morning" track is awesome. The mp3 sounds more 'finished' than the soundcloud. More contained and glued together! So that version you ran through your LA2As? Figures that they would make that kind of difference!

Jeff, been listening to your songs. Sounds like you have a good crowd on the Island :) What a pleasure.
You have some nice sounding upright going on?

Thanks, yeah we have an unusually high ratio of Musicians on this island, plus about half my business comes from surrounding areas. That track you like was recorded here in 2002. I'm currently working with her on her third CD project. I absolutely love upright bass and constantly strive to perfect my recording technique. That track was recorded before I expanded my studio and literally everything was tracked in a 5' X 7' booth!

Thanks Jeff,
I read those gems were a secret weapon years back as long as you just kiss the audio. It was an old ME who shared that with me. They used LA2A's for vibe and glue. I tried it and what you are hearing is what I did here. I use them in a MS config.

Ya, I love that song. She sounds like it should.
What a cool place you are in, I would love to set up camp there. You are very fortunate indeed. I've thought about going to the Island, on the Canadian side for years. Maybe one day when my kids are grown up.

Please Share her music with me when its done. Tell her she has a fan from a guy that likes how she's recorded too ;)

I listen to them all.

I have a group of friends that all get together on the southside of the lake and jam, write etc at a musicians home. No cops, not worries, kind of like going back in time where cows are loose to roam the highway and people are free to live responsibly while appreciating the land and water. Its a pretty unique area of the world. The sound of music that comes from that is pretty relaxed.
Anyway, we jam and enjoy the freedom and it comes out in the music. I wish I had time to record the people that passed through this "jam room" over the years.

Thanks for sharing.
