Hello there,
I was wondering if anyone can suggest a couple of mics that i can use for recording acoustic guitar and voice at home. Something with good quality but not too expensive. How many do I need? etc.
Thanks

I thought Vince should know about this also?

To Mr. Sham Wow,

I keep seeing your commercials regularly on late-night cable. I really like Vince. He is very compelling.

I thought you might appreciate this?

It's amazing how powerful commercials can be. And how such a superior product such as yours can compare with the world's best & most affordable microphones.

In a related issue, your commercials indicate that your product is "not available in stores". And to be careful of "Sham Wow imitators". Well, I've recently noticed, obviously, imitation counterfeit Sham Wow's, complete with Vince's photo on the box, at my local drugstore. Knowing that this product is not available in stores, I very carefully have stolen & destroyed & disposed of those counterfeit imitations. After all, how are you supposed to make money? I'll keep up my vigilant search for all such Sham Wow counterfeit imitators, disposing of them when I find them. I hope you appreciate the effort I am making in protecting your products exclusivity? I'll report back to you as to how many hundreds I can find & destroy. Not being able to afford your product, I look forward to the day they go on sale.

Nothing worse than counterfeiters

I got the MXL 990/993 kit from MF about 6 months ago ($99). I have recently been using them for recording fingerstyle acoustic guitar (Taylor 714) and vocals (me), and I am very happy with both of them.

The 993 is sensitive to orientation axis and placement along the neck (but what condenser isn't), and I use a pop filter with the 990 (absolutely essential).

I have this mic also and I honestly don't think you can get a better mic for around $150.

There are better mics out there, but not anywhere near that price.
