So this is a whole new side of audio to me. I've been loaned a brand new Alesis pad from an endorsee who wants me to be his programmer, problem is I have never worked with midi on my own or anything like this in my life. Now I'm already failing at making this pad work with Ableton. The pad is plugged in and was installed successfully. I go to MIDI sync and the device doesn't show up, it doesn't register in the MIDI display or anything!

This is the new ControlPad USB/MIDI Percussion Controller, it'll be used to send quotes/loops/etc...I'll be back when I can't figure out how to make mute groups! Thanks in advance!

Best advice I could offer would be to get familiar with the manual. This being a usb device it would not require an install routine or specific drivers. It plugs in and works. Check your "device setup" see if it has anything like usb audio device emulated, or something to that effect.

I'm just getting into live myself (I have lite 6) so i'm unfamilar with your problem.

Have you tried looking through the live lessons for setting up midi control surfaces? There is a step by step guide within this live pack

This should have been included in the software but if you don't have it you can download the live pack for free from the ableton site.

If you could upload some screen shots I might be able to assist you further.
