I was reading a bit of an article on soundonsound.com
It was talking about automating the transport in Sonar. Is there possibly something simple like a USB control that I could hook in to do the deed?
When recording and punching with my guitar, it can be a pain to have to hit the keyboard all of the time. When other people are playing the music it's fine using the kb, so I never really thought about it.
Any cheap suggestions for "play", "record", "stop" and "punch" capabilities?

I record several seconds of silence and then cut that off when I finish.
This can be usefull if you record drums solo too. I try to use my wireless mouse to hit the "record" button from afar and use those few seconds to get ready to record (I often leave in a four count by tapping the strings of the guitar and then remove later VIA editing)
